Changelog

[0.1.1] — 2026-04-08

Fixed

  • Billing rule form — “Configure projects” section — the budget scope section for Host rules no longer appears when Repository or Folder tracking is selected. It is correctly shown only for Host rules.
  • Billing rule form — branch hint visibility — the hint “After saving, click the branch icon to add branches for each client” now only appears when the “Multiple clients on this repo” toggle is enabled for a Repository rule.
  • AI cost reporting — costs showing as $0 — fixed a data pipeline bug where AI usage events were stored with zero cost even when real cost data was available. The extension now correctly captures costs that arrive a few minutes after the request completes, and backfills any zero-cost records from earlier in the session. Reported costs in the dashboard now accurately reflect actual AI spend.

[0.1.0] — 2026-04-08

Initial Release

Vibes to Bucks tracks every euro spent on AI coding assistants and turns it into billable time — automatically, per project, per client.

Cost tracking

  • Automatic AI cost capture — every request you make to Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or other AI coding assistants is recorded with its cost in real time, without any manual logging.
  • Smart workspace attribution — costs are automatically assigned to the right project based on which workspace was active. Works across multiple open windows, SSH remote sessions, and multi-client repositories.
  • Multi-currency support — display costs in any of 30 currencies (EUR, GBP, USD, JPY, CAD, AUD, and more) with a live exchange rate fetched on demand. USD is available as a zero-conversion option with no network call required.
  • Encrypted local database — all usage data is stored in an encrypted local database. Your cost history never leaves your machine unencrypted.

Billing rules

  • Repository and folder rules — connect any git repository or local folder to a client and project. Costs are matched top-to-bottom; the first matching rule wins.
  • Branch-level rules — for repositories shared across multiple clients, assign each branch pattern to a different client. Perfect for branch-per-client mono-repos.
  • Host rules — attribute costs to a client when working on a dedicated machine or SSH node with no workspace folder open.
  • Billable / unbillable toggle — mark any rule or time window as unbillable. Costs continue to be tracked locally while billing is paused. Automatic reminders prevent forgetting to resume.
  • Weekly budget caps — set a maximum AI spend per week per rule. Alerts fire at configurable milestones (50%, 80%, 100%) so you always know where you stand.

Dashboard

  • Cost, revenue, and profit tickers — see your AI spend, the billable value it generates, and your profit at a glance, across any time range.
  • Breakdown by source — a per-repository and per-folder table shows exactly where costs are accumulating.
  • Budget progress bars — visualise weekly spend against each client’s cap at a glance.
  • Daily sparkline — a 30-day cost history chart for quick trend-spotting.
  • Day / week / month / quarter / year / all-time views — drill into any period with a single click.

Billing sync (Pro)

  • Moneybird integration — syncs reconciled costs as time entries to any Moneybird administration, with configurable project, contact, and billing rate.
  • Harvest integration — same sync pipeline for Harvest time tracking.
  • Sync Ledger — review every synced entry, filter by client, project, date, or status, and undo individual entries when needed.
  • Billing mode — choose between multiplying AI cost by a profit factor (e.g. ×5 → €10 AI cost becomes 0.42 h at €120/h) or passing AI cost through at face value.
  • AI-powered commit summaries — when syncing, your git commit history is summarised into natural-language time entry descriptions using Anthropic Claude or OpenAI. Works in 15 languages.

Interface

  • 15-language UI — the full interface is available in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, Bahasa Indonesia, Russian, Hindi, Bengali, Arabic, Urdu, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
  • Free and Pro tiers — cost tracking, multi-currency display, the dashboard, and billing rules are free. Billing sync, budget alerts, and AI summaries require a Pro licence (€24/year or lifetime €149, 14-day free trial included).
